What is floating?
During the past 20 years the effects of „floating“ were examined systematically in the areas of health-precaution, medicine, science of sport and education. In the meantime, floating has become very popular in the USA and Australia and has recently, in Europe, become a productive and creative form of the depth relaxation.
The neuro physiologist John Lilly developed as first in the 50s a Floating-tup among other things for the NASA. The Floatarium full with medical salt brine allows the body to calm. Steady warmth, treacly feebleness, darkness and silence create the best conditions for deep relaxation. The brain is relieved of the physical control duties and becomes open for new and creative things.
By slowing down the cerebral waves it comes to a synchronisation of both hemispheres. Besides, endorphin (luck hormones) are tipped out which causes a state of feeling fine. Also, the stress hormones are decreased. Not only during the „floating“ but also about several days up to several weeks.
